History and Origin of Om

The sacred syllable Om originated in ancient India around 1500–1200 BCE. It first appeared in the Vedic texts and primarily in the Rigveda and Upanishads.

In Hinduism, Om, the primordial sound birthing the universe, symbolizes Brahman — the ultimate reality. But Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism, also adopted the knowing of Om.

People who practice meditation and seek their spiritual awakening worldwide often chant or say Om.

Om Shanti. I Am Peace.

Om: The Voice of Creation

Because the single-word mantra Om carries the voice of the Infinite, it both creates and comforts.

In essence, Om translates to “I Am.” With it, you declare the Divine Presence both within and exterior to you.

This vibratory sound attunes your frequency to your desires. It strengthens your connection to all of Existence.

Chanting Om with intention, feeling it in your soul, awakens your true nature as Divine Creator.

It silences the ego, the Pleiadian Master Ramtha calls the “conditioned mind.” It clears the space for unconditioned pure consciousness from the soul to shine.
